Many Korean Americans immigrated to the U.S. during the 1970’s or earlier and have personal first-hand experience of Japanese colonialism, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and many more valuable experiences that the current generation has never heard of. The goals of Legacy Project are to collect and preserve the stories of the older generation whose stories are at risk of being lost and also collect the stories of the current generation with history in the making, and bridge the cultural and linguistic gap that discourages intergenerational dialogue.
